Comprehensive, equitable development cherished agenda of Coalition Govt: Sadhotra

JAMMU, Apr 16: Stressing the need for focused attention on the comprehensive development of all the three regions and sub-regions of Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Planning and Development, Labour and Employment Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today said equitable development of all the areas has been corner stone of the developmental plank of Omar led Government.
Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating several civic schemes at Saharan village of Marh constituency this afternoon, the Minister said the developmental profile of the State will not be complete until all its areas witness a discernible transformation in respect of infrastructural development and availability of the various other utility services.
The Minister inaugurated civic amenities like lanes and drains put in place at a cumulative cost of Rs. 1.70 lakh, out of Constituency Development Fund (CDF), and said this will help in maintaining health and hygiene in the village to a large extent.
The Minister referred to the initiatives taken by the Coalition Government in different sectors of development and economy and said special impetus is being given to the development of remote and far-off areas. He referred to the measures taken during the past over four and half years for rejuvenating overall development of the State and said the momentum will be maintained to enhance the living conditions of the people. He said up-gradation of roads, water and power supply, health care and imparting education have been thrust areas across the State and a discernible progress has been achieved in all these sectors.
Mr Sadhotra said that Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has taken several new policy initiatives toward inclusive growth, systematic transparency and speedy progress of the state. In this context, he referred to the revolutionary schmes introduced which inter-allia include Sher-i- Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY) to comprehensively address unemployment issue in the state.
Earlier, the Minister visited Bani and Zhiri villages and inspected various ongoing development works in Marh constituency. At Bani village, he paid obeisance in Baba Braham Dev Sthaan, a historical pilgrimage centre in the area where a number of devotees throng from different parts of the State.
