Comprehensive plan formulated to improve education standards: Bhalla

JAMMU, Nov 16: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today has said that the Government has formulated a comprehensive plan to further improve education standards in the State so that the students could get quality education at their doorstep institutions.
The Minister was addressing a large gathering after inauguration of additional accommodation including class rooms, toilet block in newly upgraded Government Girls High School under Rashteriya Madaymic Shiksha Abhiyan (RAMSA) at Chatha in old Satwari, here today.
Chief Education Officer, Tarseem Lal Bhagat besides other senior officers of education department were present on the occasion.
An amount of Rs. 39.90 lakh has been expended on construction of additional infrastructure in the school under RMSA.
Maintaining that the Government schools have adequate infrastructure and well qualified teachers, the Minister called upon the parents to send their wards in these schools which are determined to impart quality education.          Bhalla said the Government has already upgraded one more Government Middle School at Barazalla village to High school so that the students of the village could get education at their doorstep school. He said proposal for upgradation of Government High School, Raipur Satwari is under active consideration of the Education Department.
The Minister said that Government was committed to create adequate facilities in rural pocket schools at par with urban centres. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner.
On the occasion, the students presented colourful cultural programme.
Earlier, the Minister visited Sanjay Nagar, Karan Bagh, Raipur-Satwari and Sumali Mohalla and kick started Rs. 70 lakh development works like blacktopping of roads and upgradation of lanes and drains.
Bhalla asked the R&B and RDD authorities to ensure quality and timely completion of the projects.
