Compulsion on wearing seat belts

Sir,
Even after a huge number of accidents that take place everyday, it is a shame that people still do not tend to wear seat belts. The use of seat belts is required by law in India. A person “sitting in the front seat or the occupants occupying front facing rear seats” must use a seat belt, according to Rule 138(3) of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules. A fine of Rs 1,000 may be assessed for failure to do so. It is high time that people should open their eyes and take this in serious consideration and start wearing seat belts. People should understand the fact that this is for their own safety and not just a rule. In addition to this, over speeding, drunken driving, and distraction to drivers is a serious threat to one’s life. It is very important to be safe and keep our loved ones safe too.
