Concern over neglect of Kuntwara in development

KISHTWAR, Sept 21: Chairman Panchyaat Halqa Sagna Kuntwara Kishtwar Tara Chand has expressed grave concern over the failure of the successive State Governments in developing this area.
In a statement issued here today, he said the constant neglect of the area by the successive governments has led to backwardness of the Kuntwara which comprises of 25 to 30 villages.
He said the people in this entire belt san basic facilities and amenities of life and there is no proper road link. Though the Kuntwara is spread over 30 km area but there is no higher secondary school, no hospital and no veterinary or sheep husbandry hospital.
He said there are many villages in this belt which till date have been deprived of power and water supply.
Mr Chand said that former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad during his visit to Kuntwara had announced Higher Secondary School and health Centre for the area but later no attention was paid to it.
He said many times patients die on way to hospital and this is a serious issue. He said though many sub centers were opened by the Government but Kuntwara has not been considered for the Sub Centre.
He demanded immediate construction of road, Higher secondary school, primary health centre, opening of Niabat, water and power supply and shifting of those areas to safer places which are facing the threat of land slides and soil erosion.
