JAMMU, Nov 11: Kashmiri migrant relief holders and over-aged youth held an emergency meeting here today in which grave concern was expressed over the non payment of cash assistance on the pretext of non compliance with Aadhar and biometric linkages.
The meeting stated that verification forms and Aadhar cadre etc were submitted at the representative zones, not once but twice during the preceding months, but owing to callous attitude of the authorities, the data was not uploaded, leading the relief holders and their families to the brink of starvation.
The relief holders held that the Government was deliberately putting the migrants who have suffered for last three decades to problems this way by stopping their monthly relief and ration.
The meeting also demanded enhancement of cash relief to Rs 200 per soul per day and ensure its timely disbursement. Besides, the meeting demanded that each over aged youth and relief holder be paid onetime compensation of Rs 50 lakh per family for his rehabilitation.
The meeting also sought support of all migrant organizations in settlement of their genuine demands.
The meeting among others was attended by Ravinder Koul, Sunil Fotedar, Rakesh Bhat, V K Razdan, R N Raina, Sanjay Chougami, Ramehs Kumar, Rohit Ji and Ashok Koul.
