Concern over excavation of land around Jawala Ji shrine

SRINAGAR, Dec 30: In a joint meeting of Jawala Ji Samiti and Jeewan Sahib Trust at Jewan Sahib Ladhoo, Kashmir held under the presidentship of M K Raina the members expressed grave concern over excavation of earth around the holy temple of Jawala Ji at Khrew.
The meeting warned the miscreants to desist from such activities as excavation of earth from the land belonging to holy temple amounts to encroachment and tress passing which will lead to serious repercussions.
The meeting urged the Government to take stern action against such elements who have engaged their men and machinery for illegal excavation of earth failing which the people will be forced to come to streets.
The meeting also appealed the Government to pass Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious Places Bill pending in State Assembly for a long time now for protection of the heritage centers in Valley.
The meeting also discussed the steps taken for renovation of Jawala Ji Shrine at Khrew, which is in progress. It decided that the renovation work of Dhoni Sahib Mandir Ladhoo will be taken up after Winter.
The members reaffirmed their resolve to work for the protection of all Hindu religious shrines in the Valley in general and Jawala Ji and Jeewan Sahib in particular.
The meeting was organised by Ravi Ji Bhat general secretary Jawala Ji Trust and among others it was addressed by Bansi Lal Bhat, Dwarikanath Safaya, Kanwal Krishan Bhat, Avtar Krishan, Amit Bhat and Vinod Dhar.
