Concern over grabbing of cremation ground, temple premises

JAMMU, May 20: A meeting of Kashmir Pandit Welfare Society Rafiabad, Hardu Chanam village in Baramulla district was held under the presidentship of Ashok Kumar Koul to discuss their problems and issues.
The meeting expressed grave concern over the encroachment and desilting of the cremation ground at the village Hardu Chanam. It said recently PHE Department has laid pipe line throughout the cremation ground without informing the real stake holders of the land.
The meeting appealed the Governor to immediately intervene into the matter and stop the ongoing work and issue instructions to Deputy Commissioner and SSP Baramulla to take stock of the situation and take strict action against the encroachers and stop the tractor drivers for desilting of the ground.
Those who participated included Pintoo Ji,Ved Lal Pandit ,Bushan Lal Koul,Bal Krishan Pandit, Moti Lal,Makhen Lal ,Nandan Kumar, Shuban Lal Koul ,Vinod Koul,Raj Nath ,Prince Koul.
Meanwhile the KP Baradari of village Kurigam in Qazigund Kashmir has expressed concern over the laying of electric poles through the temple premises in the village to provide electricity to a residential house. The senior member of the Biradri and Temple Committee of the village Rattan Lal Pandita said that the PDD Department has encroached the temple premises by laying the electric poles in its premises without taking the members of the Committee into confidence. He demanded that the temple premises be immediately restored by removing the electric poles laid in it and diverting them from other side.
