Concern over harassing pilgrims at Nehru Park by musclemen

JAMMU, June 25: Anil Gupta, vice president Chamber of Commerce and Industry has shown his serious concern over the harassment to which the pilgrims visiting holy temple of Shankaracharya in Srinagar are subjected to by the musclemen managing the local parking slot at Nehru Park.
In a statement issued here, today Gupta said that the devotees coming in their private vehicles to pay obeisance at this holy temple are stopped at the entry gate of Nehru Park by two persons who force them to park their personal vehicle at 18 Number parking slot at Nehru Park. They also behave rudely with the pilgrims coming to have darshan at the temple in their own vehicles.
The yatris at this point are asked to take the private local taxi for which they are charged Rs 1000 with extra Rs 100 for parking of the their private car.
This is total manipulation to stop Hindu devotees to perform darshan at this holy temple. This way the devotees visiting this holy temple face lot of humiliation and harassment, he added.
He sought intervention of Government at highest level to stop this practice as this is the time for holy Amarnath Ji Yatra and large number of Amarnath pilgrims also intend to pay obeisance at Shankaracharya temple at Srinagar.
