Concern over neglect of transporters belonging to Sharnarthi community

JAMMU, Aug 3: All J&K 1947 PoJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum (PoJKSIF) convened a meeting of its Core Committee via video conferencing under the chairmanship of Adv.Amrik Singh and Surjit Singh its general secretary today.
The Forum expressed concern over the deteriorating situation of transporters belongs to the Sharnarthi community due to continuous shutting down of transport operation of passenger buses, matadors, taxis, auto rickshaws etc for the last eight months. The Forum further elaborated that since mostly the Sharnarthi of POJK 1947 are dependent on transport industry and they have no other source of livelihood who with the help of loan from banks managed to get their vehicles financed and they are indebted with heavy burden of loan.
Now the situation has become so peculiar for them that the physical possession of financed vehicles may not be given to the loanees.
The Forum urged the Lt. Governor, G.C.Murmu to grant special package in favour of transporters so that they may be enable to earn bread and butter.
The Core Committee members further expressed their hope and felt satisfaction over a long pending demand of installation the statute of a great national and historical warrior Banda Singh Bhadur a State subject and a disciple of guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj which was passed by the Genera House of Jammu Municipal Corporation unanimously.
The Forum also complimented Kavinder Gupta for announcing the installation date of statue as October 27. which is the birth day of Banda Singh Bahadur.
Keeping in view the historical achievements of Banda Singh Bahadur, the Forum appealed to the general public to cooperate to fulfill this noble cause. The members who participated in the meeting included Inder Singh Sooden Corporator, Paramjit Singh Ex corporator, Jagjit Singh, publicity secretary of the Forum, Kuldeep Singh, Kuldeep Singh Kuku, H.S Sudan, Ex Group.Captain, Prof K.D Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Avtar Singh, Manjit Singh, Master Harbhajan Singh, Khazan Singh, Gursimran Singh and others.
