Concern over slow pace of work on Rattle Project

KISHTWAR, May 31: The unemployed youth of the Kishtwar and adjoining Doda district have expressed concern over slow pace of work on Rattle Power Project.
In a meeting here, today which was chaired by senior Congress leader Shamsher Singh Bhandari, it was said that the hopes of the youth have been dashed to ground as the project could not become a source of livelihood for them as the work is going on slow pace due to workers unrest.
The meeting sought immediate intervention of Assistant Commissioner Labour into the matter and appealed him to visit the project site and look into the problems of the workers.
Mr Bhandari said the workers are in grave problems and a way out be found to settle them. The meeting said that the unemployed youth of the twin districts had pinned high hopes that the workers who became idle after the completion of Dul- Hasti Project will get absorbed in Rattle Project but due to the slow pace of work on this project it failed to absorb the unemployed youth.
The meeting, which was also addressed by Farooq Ahmed Tapal and Tilak Raj Shan said moreover the worker –management gap in the project has also led to workers unrest and the same needs to be bridged for the speedy completion of the project.
