Concrete steps taken to solve unemployment problem: Ramzan

SRINAGAR, Sept 22: Minister for CA&PD and Transport Ch. Mohammad Ramzan today said that the State Government has taken up massive programme of development and welfare in length and breadth of the State and the steps are afoot to extend all possible facilities including education and health to uncovered areas particularly to the people living in far-flung and backward areas.
The Minister was addressing a gathering at Taratpora Handwara here today. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the pace of progress on various development schemes has been speeded up resulting in fulfilling the dreams seen by masses and assuring the basic amenities to all sections of the societies.
He said that the Government is fully aware of the problems confronting people and making all out efforts to strengthen the infrastructure of various essential services and solving the burning issues like unemployment besides eradication of social evils. He said that various concrete steps have been taken to solve unemployment problem by advertising large number of vacancies through State Services Selection Recruitment Board and Public Service Commission.
Referring to various local demands, the Minister said that Government is contemplating to give tehsil headquarter status to Ramhal area besides providing additional development block and delimitations of villages of the area.
Briefing about the details of developmental activities being undertaken in Ramhal area, the Minister said that Rs 4.63 crore will be spent on construction and repairs of roads and Rs 5.84 crore on setting up of Marsary Water Supply Scheme. He said that Rs 5.12 crore will be spent under BADP project and Rs 5 crore under PMGSY in the area. He assured the people that the Government will consider all other genuine demands and will fulfil them in the phased manner.
