JAMMU, Mar 4: Condemnation continued to pour in over Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed statement that Pakistan, Hurriyat and Separatist leaders played a major role in parliament and assembly elections in J&K.
Jammu Province People Forum condemned the anti-national statement of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in utter disregard to the sincere efforts of belt forces, Election Commission of India and huge turnout of voters, who were actually behind the successful elections. “Mufti ignored the sacrifices of innocent civilians, who lost their lives during Pakistani firing to disrupt and derail the election process in the State”, Forum said, adding that CM also forgot the boycott call given by the Hurriyat and several militants’ attacks in the Valley. JPPF terms the said statement of CM as anti-national and demands from Government of India to seek unqualified apology from the newly sworn-in CM. The Forum added that it is shocking to observe that BJP seems to have meekly surrendered the interest and aspirations of people of Jammu in eagerness to be part of the coalition Government in J&K. JPPF is of considered opinion that it was better for BJP to sit in opposition than to commit this suicidal alliance.
Zonal President Jammu JKNPP Neeraj Gupta also condemned the statement of the Chief Minister and took a dig over BJP for remaining silent over the statement. The people of Jammu must understand that by the formation of this Government, BJP has led Jammu to dark future, he stated. He appealed to the people especially the youth of Jammu to be united and come forward for the sake of Jammu.
