JAMMU, Oct 29: The conductor of a bus was today found dead in his vehicle here in Gujjar Nagar area.
According to a police official, the conductor identified as Ashiq Ahmed (23) son of Abdul Rashid Ganai, resident of Ahmed Nagar (Srinagar) was found dead in the bus this morning. He said that the conductor had gone to sleep in his stationary vehicle near Jogi Gate park after taking his dinner, last night.
He said as the conductor did not respond to repeated calls of the driver early this morning, the latter went on the spot, where he found the former dead. He immediately informed the police, which reached the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. In this connection, police had initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC.
