JAMMU, Dec 24: The J&K Confederation of Voluntary, Social and Charitable Organisations held a meeting here, today under the chairmanship of I D Soni, State Commissioner of the J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Union in which the elections of the Confederation were held.
I D Soni was the Election Commissioner, who declared the candidates elected. Er. K K Sharma was elected as the president while Dr Shreyansh Kumar Jain was elected as senior vice president of the Confederation, Dr M L Sharma as general secretary and Sanjeev Parihar as treasurer. K S Samyal the new president later in his address highlighted the activities of the Confederation and pointed out the problems being experienced by it. He said the Confederation is trying to act as a bridge between NGOs and Government and the challenges which the NGOs face are being taken up with the authorities. DR Jain senior vice president appealed the Government to allot land at a suitable place for construction of NGO Bhawan in Jammu and the vote of thanks was proposed by Sanjeev Parihar.
