Conference on Socio–Environment in Post-Independence Hindi Literature of J&K begins

JAMMU, June 8: A two Day Hindi Conference on the Socio-Environment in Post-Independence Hindi Literature of J&K, being organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL), began today at JKAACL premises in Jammu.
The conference was inaugurated by Padamshree Prof Vishav Murti Shastri in the presence of Padamshree Dr Jitendra Udhampuri, Dr Nirmal Vinod and Bharat Singh, Secretary JKAACL.
At the outset, Secretary JKAACL expressed that poets are the face of society and represent the inner thoughts of the social fabric through their ink. . Dr. Nirmal Vinod presented keynote address on Socio – environment in Post-Independence Hindi Literature of J&K.
In his address, chief guest Padamshree Jitender Udhampuri appreciated the efforts of JKAACL in promoting literature and culture of J&K.
In his presidential address Padamshree Prof Vishav Murti Shastri encouraged the writers to promote moral values through their literature.
Dr Shahnawaz, Editor cum cultural Officer, JKAACL presented vote of thanks. The inaugural session was conducted by Dr Ratan Basotra, Editor Dogri, JKAACL.
After the inaugural session, paper reading session was organised in which Dr Sapna Devi presented paper on Socio – environment in Post-Independence Hindi Children Literature of J&K and Dr Raj Kumar presented paper on Socio – environment in Post-Independence Hindi Short stories of J&K. This session was presided over by Naresh Kumar Udas and conducted by Reeta Khadyal, Asstt. Editor, JKAACL.
In the Short Story Session, the writers who presented their stories were Kalpana Jasrotia, Hardeep Singh Deep, Veena Dhar, Satish Kumar Sharma, Naresh Kumar Udas, Maharaj Krishan Santoshi and Dr Adarsh Prakash. The Short Story Session was conducted by Yash Pal Nirmal, Asstt Editor, JKAACL.
After this session, Light music programme was organised in which Vishakha Bhardwaj, Pankaj Pradhan Shriya Gurtu and Simran Gurtu, Gandharv Kaloo and Reeta Khadyal spellbound the audience with their melodious voices. They were equally supported by Sanjay Kumar Pashi on guitar, Darbari Lal on Dholak Chandan Jassu on Synthesizer and Rohit Kumar on Octopad. The programme was composed by Kuldeep Saproo.
