JAMMU, June 25: Congress and BJP leaders strongly condemned the cowardly attack on the CRPF party at Pampore in which eight jawans attained the supreme sacrifice and 17 others are battling for life.
Former MLA Billawar, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma lamented the BJP Government at the Centre as well as the BJP- PDP Coalition in the State on its failure in curbing the militancy due to its soft stand towards anti-national elements. He said the militancy which was nailed during the regime of UPA Government is again on rise due to the wrong policies and soft stand of BJP Government in Center and in State where the BJP is partner in government. There is a steep rise in the militant activities during the past and the BJP-PDP Government has no input as well as no control on militant activities.
Dr Sharma further said that during the last few months several times it was brought in the notice of State Government, the deteriorating condition of law and order and intelligence failure due to which the militants have succeeded in their ulterior motives, but the Government turned a deaf ear to it.
Dr Sharma said that this is very unfortunate the BJP- PDP Government is non- serious about the rising incidents of militancy as no serious step has been taken to strengthen the intelligence network.
Meanwhile, Pradesh Youth Congress president, Pranav Shagotra, senior Congress leaders Yogesh Sawhney (Ex-MoS), MK Bhardwaj and Ashwani Puri also condemned the militant attack on CRPF near Srinagar this evening and urged upon the Government to take effective steps to deal with the terrorists and enhance intelligence network.
