JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Oct 9: Congress today celebrated the victory of INDIA alliance on Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)-Kargil elections, winning 22 out of 26 seats and credited it to the `Bharat Jodo Yatra’ of Rahul Gandhi.
JKPCC working president Raman Bhalla, former Minister and incharge DCC Jammu Urban Yogesh Sawhney, chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Vinod Sharma, Ved Mahajan, Kanta Bhan, Narinder Gupta, Kapil Singh, Praveen Sarwar Khan, Dwarka Choudhary, Banu Mahajan, Amrit Bali, Vijay Malhotra, Sandeep Dogra and large number of senior Congress leaders and workers celebrated the victory at the PCC office Shaheedi Chowk Jammu by distributing sweets, burning of crackers and raising slogans in favour of the Congress Party and its leadership.
Speaking on the occasion Raman Bhalla said that the victory of the party and INDIA alliance in LAHDC as a trend setter for the future elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The people have voted in favour of the secular parties (NC-Congress) alliance. The people have rejected the policies of BJP and the BJP’s countdown has already been started from Karnataka Assembly elections. The false propaganda of the BJP has been totally exposed before the countrymen and the Congress would turn victorious in the next elections, he said.
He said that the election to the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)-Kargil was the first poll held after Ladakh was carved out as a Union Territory following the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution and the people of Ladakh rejected the divisive politics of BJP and its policies which are against the people of J&K and Ladakh.
JKPCC congratulated the Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former Congress president and Rahul Gandhi over the victory of the party in LAHDC.
Similar celebration was held at party office Srinagar. The Congress leaders and workers including frontal organizations celebrated victory in the Kargil LAHDC elections and distributed sweets and exchanged greetings. On the occasion and jubilant party workers commended the Rahul Gandhi Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Former MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga termed Kargil elections verdict as eye opener for the BJP. He congratulated INDIA alliance candidates for the overwhelming victory in the LAHDC- Kargil elections.
