Cong convention held in Billawar

BILLAWAR, Oct 20:  A Block Congress Committee convention was held at Ujhpul near Mandli in tehsil Billawar  in district Kathua today.
Minister of State for Cooperatives, Finance, Printing and Fisheries, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma  was the chief guest while District Congress Committee president for Kathua, Subash Gupta (MLC), presided over. Block president Narinder Vaid organized the one day convention.
While speaking on the occasion Dr Sharma asked the Congress workers to gear up their activities in their respective areas in view of the coming assembly elections. He claimed that Congress was the only party which is present in every corner of the country and the J&K state. Congress is the party which is most secular and can ensure better development in all the three regions of the State.
Commenting on the development works ensured in this block, Dr Sharma said several roads have been constructed and water  supply schemes sanctioned in the area. The issue of  upgradation of  Dayala Chak-Chhallan road has also been taken up with the GREF authorities. The wortk would start soon on the project, he added.
MLC Subash Gupta and Block president Mr Vaid also addressed the gathering.
