VIJAYPUR, Dec 8:  A convention of Congress delegates of Vijaypur Assembly constituency was organized by PCC member Arun Sharma, here today.
Delegates from 46 Panchayats in all blocks of the constituency attended the convention, which was addressed by former MP Janak Raj Gupta, MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma and other senior Congress leaders.
While addressing the gathering, Janak Raj Gupta exhorted the party cadre to work hard for ensuring a Congress Government on its own after the forthcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that only a Congress Government can ensure upliftment of downtrodden and weaker sections of the society.
MLC Jugal Kishore said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have made up their mind to elect Ghulam Nabi Azad as their Chief Minister for all round development and prosperity of the State.
Arun Sharma, in his address, drew attention towards some local issues and grievances of the people.  He alleged that some officers were acting more as agents of National Conference instead of serving the people.
Amongst others, who addressed the convention, included S Kirtan Singh, Kailash Rani Verma, Rajani Sharma, Leela Sagar, Bishamber Singh Slathia, Sardari Lal Verma and S Dilip Singh.
