Cong delegation visits Billawar victims, seeks probe

KATHUA, Mar 1: A Congress delegation led by former minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, and accompanied by District president Kathua Pankaj Dogra, Kajal Rajput, Raman Thapa, Yog Raj, Budhi Singh and others today visited the victim families in Billawar to share their concern over the delay in the investigation into the two incidents.
The Congress team visited the victims families on the directions of JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra and to extend support to their demand for a fair investigation.
The team visited the family of Makhan Din in Lahai Malhar area and shared the grief and concern over the delay in outcome of investigation. The team demanded a judicial enquiry into the heinous incident in a time bound manner.
The Congress team also visited the families of victims of mysterious killing of two youth namely Roshan Lal and Sansar Chand in Kaug area of Billawar and expressed great concern over the failure of the police to bring out the truth behind the shocking incidents of double murder.
The team met ADC Vinay Khosla and demanded a high level investigation into the serious incident which has caused great fear amongst local population. They expressed serious concern over the rising incidents of crime in the area and demanded effective measures to check.
The team shall submit a report to the PCC president in a couple of days to press for the demands of the victim families and the local people.
