Cong discusses ULB, Panchayat polls, says fully capable to defeat challenges

ANANTNAG, Aug 14: Congress today discussed upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections while expressing confidence that the Party will emerge stronger given its pro people policies and the equal services rendered to every section of the people living in the country.
District Congress Committee (DCC) Anantnag, in a meeting held at Veerinag area of South Kashmir, reviewed the preparations for the upcoming polls urging the Party cadres to reach out to people and seek their support to defeat the fake narrative of BJP.
Anantnag District Congress President Ali Mohd Mantoo presided over the meeting while former J&K Congress President Ghulam Ahmad Mir attended the meeting as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Ahmad Mir said it has always been Congress Party’s endeavor to ensure equitable development and justice to the people, besides safeguarding their rights, for the fact, Congress Party believes in serving and strengthening people. It will continue to fight against the divisive and deceitful policies of BJP which is unambiguously responsible for pushing people of Jammu and Kashmir towards crisis and backwardness, he added.
Mir made a fervent appeal to people of J&K to ensure victory of Congress Party in the upcoming elections, be it the ULB, Panchayat or be it the Assembly or Parliamentary elections, as that, Congress Party fully represents and respects the urges and aspiration of the people. The Party is fully capable of breaking the fake narrative of BJP, Ghulam Ahmad Mir added.
Addressing the meeting Ali Mohd Mantoo told the Party workers that there is a need to work more harder and connect with people at grass roots and seek their full support during the upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections. At the same time, Mantoo expressed confidence that Congress Party will emerge stronger given its pro people policies and the services rendered to every section of the people equally.
Those who addressed the meeting included DCC President Kulgam Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Dooru MC President Mohd Iqbal Ahanger, MC President Kokernag Prince Ahmad Sheikh, DDC Shahbad Shabir Ahad Dar, DDC Hiler Akhter Kasana, DYC President Mudasir Khan and other senior DCC/BCC office bearers of Anantnag District.
