JAMMU, Sept 29: AICC secretary co-incharge J&K affairs Sudhir Sharma today said that the people of Jammu region want a change in view of the total failure of BJP to come up to their expectations during their three and half years rule with PDP.
Sharma who arrived here today after being appointed as secretary AICC as co-incharge J&K affairs reviewed the poll situation with the senior functionaries of the party. He was apprised that party is getting very good response because of the total betrayal of BJP with their electorate in Jammu region.
Sharma asked the party cadre to further gear up the campaign as the mood of people is favourable to Congress as they want to teach a lesson to BJP for their politics of opportunism. He said that BJP stands fully exposed on all fronts after coming to power in the State for the first time through an unholy and unprincipled alliance with ideologically opposite party.
AICC secretary briefed the party leaders about the party’s directions regarding Mahatma Gandhi Jyanti on Oct 2 and Jan Sampark Campaign to be launched throughout country, to educate the masses about policies and programmes of the party and the failures and falsehood of Modi Government. The meeting decided to hold a function at Gandhi Chowk Satwari on Oct 2 in which all senior leaders and activists besides party candidates in the corporation would participate.
Prominent among those present in the meeting today included PCC vice-presidents Mula Ram and Raman Bhalla, chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Rajnesh Sharma, Balwan Singh, Yogesh Sawhney, Manmohan Singh, Mahila wing president Indu Pawar (ex-MLA), Ch Zaffarullah, Vikram Malhotra, Hari Singh Chib, Shabir Ahmad Khan, Pawan Raina, Neeraj Gupta, PYC vice-president Pankaj Basotra, Rocky Dalotra, Lalita Sharma, Uttam Singh and Virinder Singh.
