Cong fails to serve national interest: Bhim Singh

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Oct 8: National Panthers Party (NPP) chief patron, Prof Bhim Singh has alleged that Congress Party has miserably failed to serve the national interest while Omar Abdullah led National Conference was heading towards Dixon plan.
Reacting sharply over the growing situation in the State, Prof Singh said, “The situation in J&K was never in such a turmoil and dangerous as it has reached now. The Pakistani Military Commandos can hit a police station in Hiranagar and kill policemen at 7 in the morning and storm into an Army camp killing jawans and Lt Colonel. Identity of the terrorists has not been disclosed. Ramban and Kishtwar can turn into a bloody ground yet the Omar-led Government is continuing with the support of Congress at the Centre. Amarnath yatra could not take off this year properly and Shopian is yet another example of NC-Congress failure. It is now shocking that Delhi leadership has not time to spare to diagnose the cause of present situation which has arisen in Keran (Kupwara) sector of Kashmir valley where a large number of terrorists along with Pakistani soldiers are reported to have sneaked into this side.”
The NPP leader accused the national parties of keeping silence over the situation that has emerged in J&K causing threat to the security of the State. He questioned the intentions of the Chief Minister of his so called one- line resolution against the working of the Army in J&K yesterday in the State Assembly whereas, the Chief Minister would not bring resolution on the Keran aggression condemning the terrorists and their masters. This CM has never condemned any terrorist attack on Army till date instead he has been criticizing the Army role in J&K State. He has been provoking the innocent people of Kashmir through his `hate’ and provocative speeches without being questioned by the echelons of power in New Delhi, Prof Singh maintained.
“Entire country must have been told that Keran sector is part of Tangdhar ( Karnah) constituency of Kashmir which is nearly 100 miles away from the State capital (Sgr). There is no connection between Keran and Karnah and the people of Keran have remained neglected by the rulers in Kashmir and the terrorists found an appropriate ground for their anti-India movement. How, a small sector in Kashmir can remain under enemy control for two weeks,” Prof Singh questioned.
