JAMMU, Nov 23: Congress party is going to create history in Assembly elections and  form Government on its own as most of the assembly segments in first phase of electioneering are  showing winning trends in favour of party.
The people of J&K have realised that Congress is the only political party in the state which always  propagated and promoted pro-development and pro people policies, said Minister for Culture, Horticulture and Housing and Congress party candidate from  Gandhi Nagar constituency Raman Bhalla, while addressing public meetings in Govindpura Chatha, Nanak  Nagar, Digiana, Kunjwani, Trikuta Nagar, Last Morh Gandhi Nagar and Hajipora areas of the constituency here today.
He stated that with commissioning of a number of major water supply schemes in the Gandhi Nagar  constituency, people are getting safe and hygienic drinking water, new ration stores have been opened  up and the whole constituency, today, is connected through a network of roads and lanes.
Electrification of number of areas in the constituency was done by getting a number of electric poles  and transformers installed and upgraded, Minister said, adding that around 15 schools have been  upgraded to high and higher secondary level, which is catering to the needs of thousands of students at  their doorsteps and all this happened due to the positive approach, sincerity and dedication of the  Congress party towards the people.
Mr Bhalla added that construction of fly over at Vikram Chowk, 6 laning of Satwari to Kunjwani road,  modern facilities at cremation grounds, upgradation of schools, opening of new playing fields and  Public Health Centres (PHCs) and installation of over two dozen tube-wells are some of the works done  during his tenure.
Minister exhorted the party workers to make people aware about the peace, prosperity and secular policies of the Congress, so that the communal forces, who are trying to create a wedge between Hindu  and Muslim communities, should be given a befitting reply in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the  State.
“J&K people are wise enough not to be swayed down by opportunist politicians. They will definitely  reject their dangerous agenda for division of our society and will, only, choose path towards peace,  development and prosperity”, he added.
“You must reject the people who have been exploiting you on the name of caste, creed and religion and  vote consciously as the people’s urge for change under the banner of Congress party”, Bhalla added. Among others who also addressed the public meetings were Ajay Mahajan, Ex-Corporator SC Verma, Jagga,  Laddi, Ex-Corporator Satish Sharma and Dr Vijay Sharma.
