JALANDHAR, Feb12: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Minister, Bali Bhagat said that the Congress Government in Punjab has patronized only mafias like drug and land mafias thus plunging the State and its people in deep economic crisis.
It is high time that people of Punjab bring BJP Government to power for bringing prosperity to the land of five rivers. He stated this while addressing series of public meetings in Jalandhar West Constituency of Punjab in support of BJP candidate for the Assembly elections.
Addressing the meetings, Bali Bhagat accused the Congress and its Government in Punjab of utter failure in making Punjab drugs free. He said that Congress has miserably failed even in providing basic amenities to the people of Punjab.
Asserting that BJP stands committed to transform this State into ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab’, Bali Bhagat asked the people to extend full support to PM Modi led Government at the Centre by voting for BJP in the coming Assembly elections so that people of Punjab get a BJP Government. He reminded the people of Punjab about PM Modi’s slogan of ‘Nawa Punjab’ that ensures a healthy drug free environment besides unprecedented development across the land of five rivers.
The BJP leader said that the main agenda of the BJP in the Punjab elections is development of the State and the security of the nation as Punjab has a border of about 600 km with Pakistan. Moreover, land mafia, sand mafia and drug mafia are prominent among the mafias being patronized by Congress leaders, Bali Bhagat said.
Lamenting that Punjab is in a deep economic crisis and needs a double engine Government to push it on the path of development, he said, adding that BJP will work on abolishing the mafia raj in Punjab. He said BJP will focus on stability, security and change to secure the future of Punjab and its people. “Change is required not only in the regime but also to keep the future generation safe. For the security of the country, it is necessary to have a stable and strong Government in Punjab.” he asserted.
