JAMMU, Nov 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that all anti-national forces-be they separatists, terrorists or even Pakistan opposed abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir but the Congress has also been toeing the same line as it wants the UT to be pushed back by decades.

Addressing massive election rallies at Akola and Nanded in Maharashtra, Modi said the separatists and terrorist organizations had opposed scrapping of Article 370 which grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

“Pakistan too weeps on abrogation of Article 370. All anti-national forces support the Article. And Congress also speaks the same language. For the first time after 75 years of independence, Dalits got their rights but who was troubled by this? Pakistan was most troubled and second was Congress. Till now, Pakistan was roaming the whole world demanding restoration of Article 370 but no one was listening. But now the Congress has carried out Pakistan’s agenda inside the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly,” he added.
The Prime Minister said Article 370 means pushing Kashmir back to the path of violence and removing Baba Saheb (BR Ambedkar) Constitution which was implemented in Jammu and Kashmir by the BJP Government with the abrogation of Article 370.
He charged the Congress with trying to push Jammu and Kashmir back to decades with its agenda.
“It was because of Article 370 that the Kashmiri Hindus had to flee from their houses. They (the Congress and its allies) want to snatch the rights of Dalits and under-privileged classes which they got following scrapping of Article 370,” Modi said.
Hitting out at the National Conference though without naming the party, the Prime Minister said: “We love Jammu and Kashmir but they love Article 370. Since Article 370 was removed, terrorism has been curbed there. Was the tricolour hoisted in Lal Chowk or not? Diwali was celebrated there. Democracy has been strengthened”.
Referring to the passing of resolution in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly recently seeking restoration of special status, he said the entire country is worried over this.
“I want to ask you whether Article 370 should be restored. Whether you will allow this to happen? Can we forgive such a Congress? Will you punish Congress or not? Will you defeat them in the election or not?” Modi said as crowd strongly responded in support of the PM.
Congress betrayed the Constitution by not implementing it in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
“The Jammu and Kashmir Constitution was different, and (the State) had a separate flag. In Kashmir, Congress supported two Constitutions and in Maharashtra they talk of Ambedkar’s Constitution,” he said.
PTI adds: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday claimed that Congress hates OBCs as it can not come to terms with the fact that a person from Backward Classes is at the helm of the country.
Division among Dalits, Adivasis and Backward Classes suits Congress’ politics, but due to their unity it is losing its support base, he said.
“It suits the Congress’ politics if Dalits, Adivasis and Backward Classes are divided. Its game plan is to divide you into different groups and communities,’ he said.
“Congress hates the OBCs because it cannot digest the fact that an OBC is the prime minister for ten years and working by taking everyone along,’ Modi said.
“They want to divide the OBC communities into small castes and snatch the power of their unity. If it happens, Congress will snatch the reservation,” he alleged.
Efforts to divide people on caste lines and deprive them of reservation were made by leaders from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi, he claimed.
There is a wave in favour of the `Mahayuti’ alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP, he claimed, adding that its goal is `Viksit Bharat’.
“Hence, the BJP and its allies are chosen by the people again and again. In the Lok Sabha elections, Nanded did not vote for us. I hope you will bless me now,’ he said, referring to the defeat of the BJP’s Pratap Chikhlikar by Congress’ Vasant Chavan.
In the Haryana elections, BJP created history by winning the highest number of seats, the prime minister said, adding that the people of Maharashtra were set to repeat the history.
‘Wherever I have gone in Maharashtra in the last two months, I have this feeling that whatever couldn’t be done in the Lok Sabha elections will be corrected in the Assembly polls,’ he said.
