JAMMU, Aug 26: The Congress party today held a preparatory meeting at the party office in view of upcoming visit of Rajani Patil, All India Congress Committee In-charge for Jammu & Kashmir and welcome of the new JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani to be held on Aug 30.
The meeting was chaired by PCC working president Raman Bhalla. Senior Congress leaders including Mula Ram and former minister Yogesh Sawhney, Kanta Bhan, Manmohan Singh, TS Bajwa, Hari Singh, heads of Frontal Cells of the party and various District presidents from Jammu region attended the meeting.
While addressing the meeting, Bhalla issued directions for the preparations to the various party members present. Discussions were held on the upcoming program wherein various District presidents and party members were informed of the party instructions. During the meeting, Bhalla stated that the Congress Party is to stand united in the fight against the common enemy of public welfare and BJP’s anti-people policies.
He said that the employees of various categories like daily wagers, need based, contractual, adhoc etc of PHE, PDD, RDD and others departments are on roads for their regularization of services. The lawyers are protesting for their genuine demands bout Govt. instead of solving their problems harass them and delaying all decisions of the public welfare.
PCC vice president Mula Ram said that the Congress party must be in ready mode in view of ensuing elections. People of Jammu are distraught and there is no end to their suffering BJP is removed from the seat of power. All sections of people have been adversely affected, as can be seen from today’s situation, he added.
Senior leaders Yogesh Sawhney, Kanta Bhan, Manmohan Singh, Hari Singh Chib, Rajnish Sharma, Shahnawaz Choudhary, Indu Pawar, Ashok Bhagat, KK. Pangotra, Sanjeev Sharma, Pankaj Dogra, Rajesh Sadotra, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Uday Bhanu Chib, Sunny Paihar and others also spoke on the occasion.
