Cong ignored Ambedkar during its rule: Gautam

JAMMU, Dec 3: Maintaining that Narendra Modi Government has recognized the contribution of architect of Indian Constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, BJP Anusuchit Jaati Morcha national president, Dushyant Kumar Gautam, today accused the Congress of ignoring this great leader during its over 60 years rule in the country.
The BJP leader while addressing a meeting of State SC Morcha office bearers and Advisory Committee members here, today said it is most unfortunate that the Congress highlighted Nehru as architect of Modern India but in fact it was Ambedkar, who deserved this honour. The meeting was convened to discuss the present situation in the country as well as review the working of SC Morcha in the State. Among others SC Morcha national vice president Mohan Lal Dayma and its State president & MLA Samba Dr Divinder Manyal addressed the meeting.
He said the concept of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Election Commission, Planning Commission and other important establishments were the brain work of this great intellectual. Today even after 70 years of Independence, the plight of SCs has not improved, which speaks how much serious the Congress Governments had been concerned towards the SCs, he added.
He said Modi Government has launched a number of welfare schemes exclusively for the benefit of the SCs and downtrodden which reflects the concern of BJP Government towards these sections of the society. He exhorted the Morcha leaders to devote more time in reaching the members of the community and make them aware about the sincere initiatives of the present Government at the Centre towards social and economic upliftment of the Dalits.
Davinder Manyal, on this occasion, briefed about the activities being undertaken by the SC Morcha in the State and also the feedback from the public about programmes and policies of Narendra Modi led Government at the Centre which has been launched for the benefit of the poor and weaker sections.
MLA Chhamb Krishan Lal Bhagat, in his address, stressed on the principle of “Be Right, Do Right and Fight for the Right” to be successful. He said that the members of SC community are worst affected by social evils and the need of the time is to get together to educate the younger generations of the community and help them in becoming respectable citizens.
Morcha Seh-Prabhari ND Rajwal introduced the leaders in the meeting to the national president and other dignitaries and said that 9-10 lakh population of SCs in the State play a decisive role in the Government formations but the previous ruling elite used them as mere vote bank.
Morcha State general secretary Dr. Manohar Lal Rao moved a resolution in the meeting stressing upon the State Government that a rotary or road be named on him. The resolution was later adopted unanimously.
BJP State spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan presented vote of thanks.
The meeting also observed two-minutes silence in memory of senior SC leader Bansi Lal Bharti.
SC Morcha State vice-presidents Veena Bhagat, Raj Kumar Bhagat and Bishan Dass, State general secretary Dr. Manohar Lal Rao and other office bearers including Raj Kumar, Bishan Dass Naryal, Jagdish Toofani, Tej Ram, Jeet Angral, Girdhari Lal, Hardesh Khokhar, Shiv Lal Manyal, Faqir Chand Azad, Shindo Ram, K.C. Bhagat, Shakti Bhagat, Sham Lal, Bishan Dass, Dharam Pal, Girdhari Lal attended the meeting.
