They said JMC is discriminating with wards while allotting work. While in some wards, a lot of development activities have been carried out, many wards are without any development work. They said that JMC under present Mayor has failed to fulfill the aspiration of the people as people are even struggling for getting basic amenities such as good roads, lanes & drains and regular supply of potable water and electricity.
“Eligible and genuine poor citizens are struggling in getting prepared their BPL ration cards while senior citizens having no BPL ration cards are being denied monthly pension. Poor daily wagers in PHE, PDD and other Government departments have given their lives in the service of the departments in the hope of regularization of their jobs but nobody is ready to listen to their woes,” they added.
The protesting Corporators said smart electric meters have been affixed in the houses of the people but regular and uninterrupted power supply is still a distant dream. They said Safai Karamcharis of JMC are also not getting their salary despite doing their regular work with utmost honesty.
They demanded the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to take cognizance of all these issues and pass direction to JMC and other departments to address all these issues on priority.
