Cong infused alienation amongst Kashmiris: Vakil

SRINAGAR, Aug 10:  Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today said that Congress is responsible for infusing alienation among the Kashmir people and especially the youth of the State.
A convention was organized in Srinagar by Congress workers including some Congress Block presidents, former District presidents and office bearers of different districts of the Valley in support of former minister Abdul Gani Vakil to express their solidarity. They congratulated him for taking a wise and timely decision of resigning from the Congress and extended their full support to him.
During convention a unanimous resolution was passed to empower Mr Vakil to decide and formulate future course of action. It was also resolved that no stone will be left unturned in fighting against corrupt and tainted leaders installed in the State by Congress high command and every effort will be made to uproot Congress from the State especially from Kashmir valley.
While addressing the convention, Mr Vakil reiterated that the some decisions of Congress high command are responsible for infusing alienation amongst Kashmiri people especially youth and distancing them from the mainstream. Justifying his decision to say good bye to Congress party, Vakil said that Congress leadership sitting in AC rooms there planned and facilitated humiliation of every mass base leader of Kashmir and deceived them for their own interests whether it was Lt Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Lt Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad, Mufti Mohammad Syeed, Dr Farooq Abudullah even didn’t spare Late Abdul Gani Lone, Late Ghulam Rasool Kar or  Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma.
He said the political atmosphere of the State presently demands a viable alternative to regional parties  to protect the interests of the people of the State and put an end to hollow and exploitive sloganeering ranging from Autonomy to Self Rule. He said that now it is inevitable for the qualified youth to come forward and bring awareness about exploitive politics. Mr Vakil appealed to the leaders of small regional parties of the Valley to get united and give a strong and viable alternative to those regional parties who grabbed power by exploiting sentiments of the people by raising hollow slogans.
Prominent among those who attended the programme included former District presidents  Mohd Amin Kutleri, Mohd Shafi Banday, Ghulam Hassan Shah, Haji Mohd Afzal, former PCC general secretary Abdul Ahad Yatoo, former jt secy Ghulam Ahmad Reshi, Block presidents GA Parray, Ghulam Nabi Shah, Ghulam Hassan Shah, Abdul Gaffar Dar, youth leaders Sheikh Manzoor, Rafi Wani and senior leaders Ghulam Hassan Lone, Adv Javed Ahmad Masoodi, Husaamudin Gilani, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Pt Brij Nath Nehru and S Trilok Singh.
