KISHTWAR, Jan 21: Expressing grave concern over the traffic jams in the area and failure of the authorities to widen the road from Malipeth to Kaleth Chowk, senior Congress leader and member of Kishtwar civil society, Shamsher Singh Bhandari has criticized the Government for delaying the acquisition of land for the purpose.
In a statement issued here, today said the Government should start the process of land acquisition for widening of the road and as the most of the State land falls in the area the authorities should Start the process of land acquisition by demarking the State land so that the work on road widening can be started and the people of the area relieved off the problems being created due to frequent traffic jams.
Mr Bhandari has made an appeal to DC Kishtwar in this regard and urged him to take necessary steps in this connection. He said the road widening has been a long pending demand of the people of the area and though the Government has also approved the same but delay in the process of land acquisition has been the cause of entire problem.
