Cong leader says case against him politically-motivated

JAMMU: A day after being booked in an alleged land fraud case, senior congress leader and former minister Taj Mohiuddin today said the action of the State Vigilance Organisation is “politically motivated” as he insisted that he had followed all rules.

“I have an apprehension that this action of the vigilance of registering a case against me may be politically motivated,” he told reporters here.

He said the piece of land in question was purchased by him in 1970 from one Gulla Bhat who had handed over the possession of the land to him at the time of the purchase.

“With the onset of militancy in Kashmir, I migrated to Jammu and returned to Kashmir in 1994. During my stay in Jammu I got the papers of the land completed in all respects after following all the rules under the Agrarian Reforms Act,” Moiuddin said.

He said nobody raised the issue during the past 40 years after he bought the land. (AGENCIES)
