JAMMU, Apr 23: Habitual of befooling the innocent masses of India, Congress has tried to hoodwink the public once again by declaring that it will celebrate Panchayati Raj Diwas in Jammu & Kashmir, alleged BJP general secretary, and former MLC Vibodh Gupta.
Talking to reporters here, today along with former MoS, Rashpaul Verma, BJP vice-president, Varinderjit Singh, party spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan and its media incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Vibodh Gupta said Congress leaders must clear their stand that why the Panchayati Raj system was not deliberately strengthened in the erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir while its party relished the delicacies of power along with other regional parties for decades together.
Gupta said that Congress leaders have tried to take the credit by announcing to celebrate the Panchayati Raj system but in reality it is the BJP that has strengthened the Panchayati Raj System at the grass root level in Jammu & Kashmir. Congress’s decision to celebrate Panchayati Raj Diwas does not have any relevance on J&K as in their time 73rd & 74th amendment was not implemented for the reasons best known to them. Congress and NC never cared for this and in their rule the whole system was lying defunct, he added.
Now, the BJP has strengthened and rejuvenated the whole system by ensuring DDC and BDC elections and strengthened the Panchayati Raj system for which Congress hoodwinked the masses of J&K for 70 long years, he said.
Gupta further stated that on the first hand, local Congress leaders should also explain that why did they intentionally duped former PM, Rajiv Gandhi in the State by resisting such major reformation and why now they have just risen from deep slumber to give him the credit? The credit for strengthening the Panchayati Raj system in J&K goes none else than Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and BJP, he added.
Gupta said, “Congress’s move to celebrate Panchayati Raj Diwas is just a deceit and instead making such an announcement they should have made the self introspection first. This shows either they don’t have any knowledge or they intentionally want to befool others. Congress never had any intention to strengthen Panchayati Raj System while the whole system today is ensured at the ground level by BJP only,” added Gupta.
He said the people of J&K are mature enough as well as politically conscious and they will never fall in the trap of Congress. Instead the party leaders who made such an announcement have made laughing stock of themselves, he added.
