J&K BJP felicitates Khatana

JAMMU, Sept 11: The newly nominated Member Parliament (MP) Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Ali Khatana was today felicitated by the BJP at a function held at party Headquarters here at Trikuta Nagar, today.

The function besides a large number of party activists was attended by J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina, MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, former party presidents Ashok Khajuria, Shamsher Singh Manhas and Sat Sharma, former DyCM, Kavinder Gupta, BJP vice-president, Yudhvir Sethi, general secretary (Org.), Ashok Koul, general secretary, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, BJP NEM & Headquarter Incharge, Priya Sethi, former MLCs, Girdhari Lal Raina & Charanjit Khalsa, chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi, ST Morcha president, Choudhary Haroon and other party leaders.
Ravinder Raina, while speaking on the occasion termed it a great decision of the party. He appreciated the perseverance and commitment shown by Khatana. He said that Khatana served the party with a mission and every activist must do his or her work with dedication. He said that only BJP identifies the hidden talent of the people coming from poor background. He said that only BJP is the true representative of Gujjar, Bakkarwals and the parties like Congress, NC, PDP misled and exploited these communities. Now Modi has given powers to the community giving them land rights, representation, changes in inter district recruitment rule and so on. With the nomination of Khatana to the Rajya Sabha, BJP has given voice to the community in the most sacred house of nation. With this decision Modi , Nadda, Amit Shah have proved their love for the region and the community.
Ghulam Ali Khatana, complimented the party leadership for the faith posed in him, shared his political and social experiences during his public career. He said that he was moved by the needs of the society and the prevalence of corruption. He narrated the instances when he was guided and groomed by the BJP seniors in various parts of the nation.
He said that Modi has delivered what he promised, stressing that the PM was vocal while saying that he will do justice with every neglected section of society. BJP believes in ”Sabka Sath, Sabka Vishwas”. “I assure all the political seniors and my companions that together we will work and together we will grow”, he said.
Jugal Kishore Sharma greeted the new MP and said that this is a welcome decision. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the senior party leadership for giving the opportunity to a ground level worker.
Kavinder Gupta termed the decision as a great work at the right time. He said that the things that have lingered for 70 years are being done now.
Ashok Khajuria remembered the experiences he shared with him. He said that he must remember that he now does not belong to a single community but must project the issues of society as a whole.
Shamsher Singh Manhas threw light on the career of Er. Khatana since he joined the party.
Sat Sharma said that it is the beauty of BJP that an ordinary activist has today reached an important position. Sunil Sethi said that he has the capacity to make constructive discussions with a bold and clear stand.
Ch. Haroon complimented the party leadership for giving such strong representation to the Gujjar community.
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal said his nomination to RS has proved that BJP is the only party which is committed to Sabka Satha and Sabka Vikas. Earlier Khatana was brought in a huge rally to the party office which was joined by his hundreds of supporters.
