JAMMU, Apr 4: BJP national vice-president & Prabhari J&K, Avinash Rai Khanna, in a statement, cautioned the former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah, to desist from making statements on serious and sensitive issues pertaining to the State.
In a statement issued here, today he said that those politicians, who have even remained presidents or senior functionaries of their parties and held important Constitutional positions in the State and at the Centre, should keep in mind that the State has been brought out of uncertainty with normalcy returning in the State under President’s rule and they need to contribute for peace and progress instead of provoking the people. Such politicians should apologise to the people in general for their unwarranted statements, he added.
The leaders of NC, PDP and Congress need to know that their statements have potential to disturb the communal harmony and security situation in a sensitive State like J&K. Congress in particular should clear its stand with regard to the statements made by NC and PDP regarding “our workers are Mujahideens” and “accession would be reviewed in case Article 370 is abrogated”.
The Congress in the prevailing situation, has to explain to the people the reasons behind alliance with the NC and PDP, particularly in the context of their anti-national statements.
Khanna said that the coming together of Congress, NC and PDP, will further push the State towards terrorism and need of the day is to defeat their alliance in the interest of the State, its people and the development. On the one hand, they take oath on the Constitution of India while filing their nomination forms to contest elections, on the other hand, they continue criticising and abusing the Constitutional position of Jammu & Kashmir State, which is very unfortunate.
