Cong only secular, unifying force against divisive forces: Karra

JAMMU, Jan 8: JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra today said that Congress is the only secular, democratic and unifying force which can do justice to all sections of people.
“There is change in the thought process amongst the people of Jammu after the outcome of recent elections that it is only the Congress party which can effectively address the issues of people of all sections of Jammu region in view of its secular approach and progressive outlook,” Karra said while welcoming two prominent personalities namely Dr Sandeep Singh (former president, Jammu University Teachers Association) and Sohit Sharma (additional spokesperson of PDP) into the party fold.
Karra said that in the coming days more and more likeminded people and forces will join the Congress party since Congress is strong and steady on its principles of secularism and socialism and believes in strengthening democracy and Constitution.
Talking to media persons, Prof Sandeep Singh said that he believes it is natural for Indian people to be part of the Congress party as it reflects the ethos of Indianness and Constitution.
Sohit Sharma while explaining the reasons for joining congress said that he believes that Congress is the right platform to raise the issues of people of Jammu region and the party will emerge stronger in Jammu region in the coming days under the present leadership.
AICC secretary Shahnawaz Choudhary, chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Ved Mahajan (I/C HQ PCC), Advocate Shah Mohd Choudhary, Gurmeet Singh, Narinder Sharma, Suresh Dogra, Sahil Sharma, Jatin Raina, Dr Pradeep Bhagat, Bilal Rashid, Aijaz Choudhary, Ricky Dalotra and Mudasar Choudhary were present on the occasion.
