Cong party gears up for upcoming ULB elections

JAMMU, Aug 28: In a bid to establish political hold at grass root level in the urban areas, the Congress party commenced preparations for the forthcoming elections of Urban Local Bodies in Jammu and Kashmir.
A joint meeting of Congress workers of Ward No. 52,53, 54 and 55 was organized by Surinder Singh Dutt and Pritam Singh (Corporator) at Kanjwani Chowk, here today. PCC observers Vinod Sharma, Michael Wazir, Take Chand Gupta and Munish Sharma listened the grievances of local leaders and took their suggestions for the upcoming elections.
The meeting which was aimed at strengthening the party besides beginning the exercise of identifying probable candidates for the upcoming ULB elections was attended by Aman Bawa, Banarsi Dass, Daya Ram, Sukh Ram, Tarsem Kumar, Baldev Singh Puri, Vijay Sharma, Satnam Singh, Neerak Kumar Thapa, Rakesh Kumar Mian.
Addressing the meeting Vinod Sharma said that the Congress party under the presidentship of Vikar Rasool Wani is working on a strategy to file strong and potential candidates who will win the ULB elections . He stressed upon the local leaders holding the key responsibilities at Block and Ward level to further gear up their activities in view of ULB elections .
Michael Wazir accused the Govt. of deceiving the local innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir by failing to deliver their promises.
He said that BJP miserably failed to protect the interests of Jammu people, who are reeling under tax terrorism, smart meters, toll plazas etc.
