Cong pays tribute to P Namgyal on his death anniversary

LEH, June 1: Ladakh Territorial Congress Committee (LTCC) paid tribute to former union minister P Namgyal on his second death anniversary today.
LTCC president and former minister Nawang Rigzin Jora, DCC president Rigzin Namgyal, leader of opposition in LAHDC Leh Tsering Namgail Councilor Lower Leh, Ex-MLA Tsering Samphel, late P Namgyal’s daughter Stanzin Dolkar, MCL president Dr Ishey Namgail, Congress senior leaders, Youth president Tundup Norbo Councilor Phayang and other members gathered in party office to offer Khataks at his portrait to pay tribute to the late leader.
Highlighting the great contribution of P Namgyal towards the development and prosperity of Ladakh region, Nawang Rigzin Jora said that P Namgyal made tremendous efforts in getting schedule Tribe, Hill Council status etc. He also announced to start various initiatives such as constructing a statue, essay completion among school children and to write a memoir to highlight his achievement among younger generation.
Tsering Samphel and Rigzin Namgyal highlighted many outstanding contributions of late P Namgyal like declaration of ST status for Ladakh, establishment of Indian oil, LPG Gas and his great initiatives in declaring Hill Council for Ladakh amongst others.
