Cong pays tributes to Pt Nehru on his 132nd  birth anniversary

SRINAGAR/ JAMMU, Nov 14. The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today paid glowing tributes to Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru on his 132nd birth anniversary.
Congress also recalled the great contributions of first Prime Minister to inclusive development of Modern India.
Srinagar District Congress Committee in a function at Srinagar Party office paid floral tributes to first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his 132nd  birth anniversary and recalled his selfless services rendered to the Nation.
Srinagar DCC president Abdul Gani Khan, who presided over the function described Pt.Nehru a man of development, visionary and a statesman. The five year reconstruction programme launched by Pt. Nehru greatly contributed to India’s inclusive development in every sector with the result, the Nation achieved milestone in respect of development, economy, defense, education, communication and other fields.
Those who paid floral tributes to Pt. Nehru included Shameema Iqbal, Umar Jaan, Mir Ruvais, Shameema Raina, Amir Rasool, Ghilam Mohd Sheikh, Beigh Asif, Shameema Khan, Zulfkar Qureshi, Mohd Ashraf, Saira Sameer, Haleem Khan, javed Ahmad, Muzaffar Shah, Anees Gul, Rahila, Gulzar Ahmad and others.
On this occasion dozens of political workers from Hazratbal constituency joined Congress Party.
Former Minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma along with Subash Gupta (Ex-MLC), Devinder Singh Bindu (senior leader), Brijeshwar Singh Indu (Chairman BDC barnoti)  paid rich tributes to Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary at Dayalachak.
While speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that Pt Nehru was the country’s first Prime Minister as a visionary who laid the foundations of modern India. Born in 1889, Nehru remained the country’s longest serving Prime Minister.
While offering floral tributes, Dr Sharma said that Nehru was a hero of our freedom movement, a nationalist who stood fearlessly to protect India’s interests, an inspirational human who transformed the thought of generations.
Subhash Gupta termed Pt Nehru as architect of modern India and also remembered the contribution of farmers, soldiers and labourers while remembering India’s first Prime Minister.
Similar functions were organised by Congress party activists at various places across the J&K UT today.
