JAMMU, Mar 17: Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party, spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, has charged Congress of playing politics of deceit and lies to hide its misdeeds and ignoring Jammu in matters of development during its rule of over six decades at the Centre.
Reacting to the repeated and false accusations of Congress on BJP for discriminating with Jammu, Balbir Ram Rattan said that, it is in fact, the Congress itself, which played politics of appeasement of Kashmir and always ignored Jammu in matters of development for decades together. He said that the BJP Government at the Centre under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has for the first time, sanctioned dozens of mega projects related to power generation, improving infrastructure for better means of connectivity, establishment of higher education institutions, besides setting up of Medical Colleges even at district level, modernization of Railway Station, expansion of Airport etc.
Balbir further said that the Union Government has also launched a number of welfare schemes for the socio-economic upliftment of all the sections of the society, without any discrimination on the basis of gender, religion, region, caste or creed. He said that the corruption in matters of financial assistance to the poor has also been plugged off through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, thus bringing transparency as well.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that the people have seen the misrule, coupled with misgovernance of Congress and are wise enough to themselves differentiate as to why BJP is becoming the first and only political choice in entire length and breadth of the country and Congress getting pushed to the wall.
The Congress leaders have turned vocal in targeting BJP because they are afraid of facing public for total non-performance of their regimes. They should remember that the work done is visible on ground and itself speaks, Balbir said and added that Congress stands nowhere in front of BJP in matters of development for Jammu and Kashmir.
