JAMMU, Mar 7: As a part of nationwide programme, the JK Congress today held a strong protest demonstration against Modi Government and State Bank of India (SBI) over the issue of non disclosure of requisite information regarding electoral bonds, as per orders of Supreme Court and accused the Government of pressurising the SBI to seek five months more time to disclose the information.
Apart from several district headquarters in Jammu region, a strong protest demonstration was held in Jammu at Shaheedi Chowk in which large number of senior leaders and activists including women and district, block workers participated. Working president JKPCC Raman Bhalla led the demonstration accompanied by senior vice presidents  Balwan Singh and   Ravinder Sharma  (Chief Spokesperson), vice presidents Yogesh Sawhney, Vinod Sharma, Naresh Gupta, District president Jammu Urban  Th Manmohan Singh, besides other senior leaders, general secretaries, secretaries, secretaries frontal heads, DCC Jammu urban and rural leaders and workers.
Raising slogans against Modi Government and SBI , the Congress leaders accused the Government of pressurising the SBI to seek more time of five months in order to hide the vital information from the general public. The Modi Government doesn’t want the requisite information from the SBI to be exposed which will expose the BJP Govt on donations from Corporates.
Bhalla lashed out at the BJP Govt for hiding the vital information from the public before elections since the Supreme Court has held the scheme as illegal and unconstitutional. The disclosure will expose the BJP Govt and Corporate nexus and large scale illegalities and   irregularities.
He said SBI is having 48 crore bank account holders, 66000 ATMs which are fully digitalized and computerized then why it needs such a long time to share information about 22000 electoral bonds. It’s deliberate attempt by SBI on the instructions of Modi Government, he added.
JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma hit out at the Modi Government for pressurising SBI not to share information as per Apex Court directions and termed it serious issue. Supreme Court  judgment  has vindicated Congress stand and exposed BJP over the legalized corruption and loot through electoral bonds scheme.
He alleged that PCC president Vikar Rasool Wani was restrained from joining the protest by the police by not allowing him to move out of the hotel in Srinagar in the morning. He termed it panic of BJP for resorting to such dictatorial and anti- democratically approach.
Similar protests were held at Kathua, Udhampur and some other places.
