JAMMU, July 25: District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Rural today staged a protest against the Union Government led by Narendra Modi for harassing the top Congress leaders through Enforcement Directorate (ED) by implicating them in false cases.
The protest held near the office of the SDM North was led by Mula Ram (former minister and vice president JKPCC), Hari Singh (president, DCC Jammu Rural) and Uday Bhanu Chib (president, Youth Congress J&K). The protesting activists carrying placards in their hands raised vociferous slogans against the ED and the Modi Government.
Addressing protesting Congress workers and activists, Mula Ram accused the Union Government of using Government agencies as tools against the opposition party leaders. He said that false cases are being framed against Congress Party’s top leaders on one pretext or the other. He said that it is an irony that without registration of FIR or presence of money transaction records or evidence the ED is making every effort to book the reputed senior leaders of Congress.
“In such situation and circumstances, how it can be money laundering case, the JKPCC vice president questioned. This is blatant murder of democracy and Congress workers will continue protests till ED, CBI, NIA, etc stop harassing our leaders,” he asserted.
Hari Singh while addressing the protesting workers said that the Central Government after having miserably failed on all fronts has stooped so low that it is resorting to cheap politics of political vendetta using its agencies like NIA, CBI and the ED. Warning the Government against such attitude and actions, he said that no party worker in the JKPCC party cadre will tolerate the unnecessary harassment caused to the topmost Congress leaders.
Uday Chib, president of J&K Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC), said not only across the nation but even in J&K people realize today how the BJP leaders and their Government have betrayed the people.
