Cong Sarpanch, Naib Sarpanch of Hakkal with supporters join BJP

JAMMU, Mar 17: Former Sarpanch Kunti Devi and Naib Sarpanch, Sudesh Kumar, eight Panchs left the Congress party in Hakkal Panchayat of R S Pura and joined BJP along with their supporters. All these leaders joined the party in the presence of BJP State general secretary, Dr Davinder Manyal, former Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria, district president Jammu South, Rekha Mahajan, former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia, district Incharge Ayodhya Gupta, BJP leader, Zorawar Singh, Mandal president, Vijay Sharma and Captain (retd) Rajinder Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP State general secretary, Davindra Manyal, while taking the new entrants into party fold, said that everyone’s dignity and respect will be taken care of in the party. Referring to the Lok Sabha elections, he said that the target is big hence every worker has to ensure his best contribution in view of the role decided by the party.
Former Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria said with their joining in BJP the Hakkal Panchayat has become ‘Congress Mukt’. He said that by passing the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has also ensured 33 percent reservation for the women of the country in the democratic structure. He said that the Sarpanch and Panch who have joined the party are grassroot level leaders.
Former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia said that the joining of former Sarpanch and Panchs in the BJP party is a proof of their faith in the principles of good governance supported by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister’s transformational leadership, centered on the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’, has brought positive change across the country.
District Jammu South president, Rekha Mahajan said that the respect of women is safe only in BJP. She said that the BJP takes care of everyone. She also said that her party Government led by Narendra Modi has implemented many welfare schemes for the empowerment of women.
District In-charge Ayodhya Gupta highlighted the growing popularity of the BJP and stressed its role as a viable replacement for dynastic political parties in Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior BJP leader, Zorawar Singh said that impressed by the work of Prime Minister, everyone is joining BJP for country building.
Former Sarpanch Kunti Devi said that she has full faith in the leadership of Narendra Modi. “I am inspired by the way he is working to take the country forward,’’ she added.
