Cong seeks Bharat Ratan for Brig Rajinder Singh

JAMMU, Oct 27: The JKPCC today paid rich tributes to Brigadier Rajinder Singh, savior of state, who was martyred today while defending the State against the Pakistan attack in Kashmir. He was real hero who halted the march of Pakistan for over four days, which saved Kashmir.
Paying rich tributes on behalf of entire rank and file of the party Senior leaders JKPCC said that Brig Rajinder Singh defended his motherhood till the last breath and was the first gallantry awardee and recipient of MVC because of his valour and dedication to duty.
They recalled Brigadier Rajinder Singh’s bravery and total devotion to Motherland, with a small force of about 100 men as he not only inflicted heavy casualties to enemy whose man power was over 6000 but he succeeded in hindering the movement of Pakistani invaders for over four crucial days, till the signing of Instrument of Accession of J&K with the Union India and arrival of Indian Army.
He laid down his life setting an unparallel example of courage and patriotism, when a Chief of Army staff personally led his soldiers and defeated the designs of enemy, who had captured some areas of Kashmir and indulged in mass destruction. He is the real saviour of Kashmir and hero of mother India. The leaders sought Bharat Rattan for him in view of his unparallel contributions in defending his mother land with great valour and devotion.
