JAMMU, Feb 22 : Demanding immediate announcement of restoration of statehood before Assembly polls, JKPCC demanded holding of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir at the earliest.
JKPCC has asked the party cadres to be fully ready for the  Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and demanded immediate restoration of statehood before Assembly polls, besides urging  the Government to ensure  level playing field for all political parties for election campaign in vulnerable areas and provide adequate security to the prominent leaders of opposition including Congress, as per their political status and standing like BJP leaders and its like minded parties.
A meeting of PCC Campaign Committee was held under the chairmanship of Former   Dy CM, Tara Chand while JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani was the chief guest which was attended by most of the members & all district presidents of Jammu province to discuss the preparations and strategy for elections.
The senior leaders and members held threadbare discussions on various aspects of the elections to Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. The meeting expressed full readiness for  both the elections  and asked the Government to ensure proper security to all prominent leaders of  opposition parties especially non BJP parties, as there is huge discrimination with non BJP parties in the matter of security. It is the duty of the Government to ensure safety and security of all citizens especially minorities and all political workers irrespective of party affiliation of prominence in a fair manner.
The meeting  held threadbare discussions on the current political scenario and hit back at the BJP for claiming credit of the  Prime Minister’s rally for which  the Government & LG administration  mobilized the entire  Government machinery and employees for the success of the official rally which is being claimed  as BJP rally. It was for the first time  that mobilization of  the Govt machinery of such levels were done  as there was  low public response  in view of the failures of the Govt. on various fronts  and to deliver  its last promises to various sections of people and youth.
The meeting questioned the Prime Minister for not uttering a word  for the promises made to the people of J&K, especially Jammu region in the last elections. The Prime Minister deliberately avoided to mention the most popular demands of people for restoration of statehood and democracy as well as promises made to the unemployed youths, farmers, refugees daily wagers contractual and other categories of temporary employees .
The meeting viewed that the people  are fed up  with the BJP Govt. for the  wrong policies with regards to youth, farmers, employees, pensioners and the common man who are  facing the brunt of  wrong policies, especially on the economic front pushing the common and poor  people  to great economic distress and  state of joblessness.
The meeting was attended by  Secretary AICC Shahnawaz Choudhary,  PCC senior vice president   and chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma,  vice presidents  Yogesh Sawhney (ex-Minister) , Tarlok Singh Bajwa (ex-MP),  former Minister Shabir Ahmed  Khan, SS Channi, Narinder Gupta(Org), Ashok Dogra (ex-MLA),  Anayat Ullah Rather (DDC), TS.
