Cong supports demand of Sainik Colony at Srinagar

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, May 12: Several Congress leaders have supported the demand of setting up of Sainik Colony at Srinagar.
In a meeting of the senior leaders of the Congress  Party held here today, the speakers strongly supported the demand being projected for the construction  of  Sainik  Colony at Srinagar for the welfare of the ex-servicemen of the State.  They said that this demand of the ex-servicemen is coming up since 2012 and the establishment of   resident colony exclusively for the defence/ security personnel is very genuine.
The Congress leaders further said that this issue has already been discussed  and decided in Rajya Sainik Board meetings which were presided over by the Governor in presence of Chief Minister and senior  Army officers.  It is unfortunate that PDP and NC are playing politics over the issue.     It very intriguing that the power hungry BJP  is now maintaining silence  over the issue of raising Colony.
Those who attended the meeting included Jugal Kishore Sharma (MLC),  former minister R S Chib, Th Hari Singh, Jagdish Sapolia, Amolak Singh, Tasadduq Hussain, Geeta Devi, Shakeel Shah, Brij Mohan, Arun Sharma, Zulfkar Khan  and Anil Pachiala.
