JAMMU, Jan 18: As a part of nationwide call of All India Congress Committee, a Padayatra was taken out by the hundreds of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress workers under the leadership of JKPCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra accompanied by the AICC general secretary GA Mir, AICC Incharge Jammu and Kashmir affairs Bharatsinh Solanki, PCC working presidents Tara Chand, Raman Bhalla and a large number of senior leaders, party office bearers and workers raising slogans against the Central Government and the Home Minister Amit Shah for his remarks in Parliament against Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
While addressing the workers at the statue of Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar JKPCC chief reminded the workers about the role of RSS and it’s subsidiaries regarding their role during Independence struggle. He said those who are parroting about their Nationalism today are the same people who collaborated with the Britishers to frustrate Independence struggle and worked as their agents and informers to facilitate Britishers to crackdown on the Nationalistic leadership of Indian National Congress and it’s country wide Independence movement.

Karra further said that the people who are hell bent to create a new narrative of Nationalism by imposing politics of hate in place of Inclusivity, dividing people on the basis of religion caste and creed are performing the worst kind of dis-service to the Nation. Their age old divisive politics is being preached and practiced day in and day out now, which has not only made the country a fragile country but has lowered it’s hard earned esteem world over.
He also said the party will organise ‘Chaupals’ in every district and educate the people about how the BJP-RSS has been insulting Ambedkar and demeaning the Constitution for last decade.
He further added “To safeguard legacy of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and his values, a ‘Samvidhan Bachao Rashtriya Padayatra’ which was held today will be connecting villages and towns across Jammu and Kashmir with a powerful message of unity and social justice.”
Speaking on this occasion Solanki said that Congress remains unwavering in its demand for the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah and Congress strongly condemns the attempts to erode social justice and equality, which are the fundamental pillars of Ambedkar’s vision for India. He said Congress party has launched Dr. Ambedkar Samman Saptah to honour Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s contribution and to highlight the present threats to his legacy and constitutional principles.
He said Congress will take forward this movement to every nook and corner under the slogan of “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan Abhiyan.”
G A Mir said that the insulting words used by Home Minister India for the author of constitution was not insult to a particular section of society but it is an insult to the entire nation as the Constitution was not written for few chosen ones. The state has no religion and a nation is guided and run by certain sacred rules and regulations called Constitution which upholds the sovereignty of the state and gives its subjects their rights and duties above all religions, regions, class, creed, colour and their way of living.
