JAMMU, Nov 11: Working president of JKPCC Raman Bhalla today said that Congress Party will hold block-wise conventions to strengthen the party at grass-roots level in the J&K UT.
He was speaking in a meeting of District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) held today to discuss important party affairs. The meeting was presided over by former minister and DCC Jammu Urban president Yogesh Sawhney. It was attended by district office bearers, Block presidents, Ward presidents and Councillors of Jammu Municipal Corporation belonging to the Congress party.
Raman Bhalla said that strengthening the party and preparing Jammu to fight against the exploitation by BJP government will be party’s priority. Meetings will be held at the ward and block levels to convey party’s agenda to all the members and stakeholders involved so that we put up an effective front against the incumbent regime which is based on exploitation of the poor and the middle class.
He said that the initiatives will help the party strengthen organizationally and in the public sphere in terms of building a relation with the public. Through price rise, unemployment and various other problems, the country is in extreme distress solely because of BJP’s policies. To fight the exploitation of the common people by the BJP Government through exertion of their political power can also be brought down by throwing them electorally.
Sawhney discussed the upcoming party outreach programmes stating that party will move towards Block wise meetings/Conventions to strengthen the party’s foundation at the grassroots level. He also announced that the District Congress Committee Jammu Urban will hold ‘District Congress Jammu Urban convention’. The convention will invite the inputs of various stakeholders in the party so as to streamline the way forward to strengthen and uplift the Congress party in Jammu District (Urban).
The DCC functionaries also thanked the Party high-command for not accepting the resignation of Yogesh Sawhney as Incharge District president Jammu Urban and welcomed the continuation of his leadership in this capacity.
