Cong to play vital role in keeping all regions united: Mir

JAMMU, Mar 7: Pradesh Congress Committee president Ghulam Ahmed Mir has said that Congress party has to play a vital role in cementing all the three regions of the State.
While speaking in a meeting of Congress legislators and senior leaders, the newly elected PCC chief asked the party leaders and workers to strengthen the party at grass root level. He said that Congress has to play vital role in keeping all the three regions united and ensure balanced and equal development.
The newly elected CLP leader Nawang Rigzin Jora, former PCC president Peerzada Mohd Sayeed, former CLP Leader Mohammad Sharief Niaz, former Minister Sham Lal Sharma, former Member Parliament Janak Raj Gupta, besides MLAs and MLCs of the party attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed various wide-ranging issues threadbare pertaining to present political situation in the State and approach of the party towards the current scenario. The various issues which came up for discussion included ways and means to be adopted for strengthening the organization at all levels in order to make it more vibrant in all three regions of the State.
The members also deliberated upon the suggestions to be put forward to the All India Congress Committee which has sought from all State units with regard to core issues and organizational structure to be discussed in the next AICC Session. All the participants put forth their view point in the role of Congress party in the State.
The participants congratulated AICC president Sonia Gandhi and AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi for appointing GA Mir as president PCC and newly elected CLP Leader Rigzin Jora and extended their full cooperation for strengthening further the Congress Party in the State.
