JAMMU, May 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has demanded an in-depth probe into the Katra bus tragedy due to mysterious fire incident causing causalities of four pilgrims and injuries to 22 others.
JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma termed the incident as shocking and heart- wrenching in which several precious lives were lost and others struggling for life and demanded that an indepth investigation is needed into the incident to rule out any mischief.
He regretted that an earlier tragedy on Dec 31, 2021, was ordered to be probed by a Committee but neither the report witnessed light of day, nor any minimum action was shown to have been taken. There is massive public criticism over the incident and role of the Government.
Meanwhile, former Minister and senior Congress leader Jugal Kishore Sharma has also demanded an inquiry into Katra bus fire incident. Kishore said the inquiry is must to bring out the facts.
